Croydon Ranges Football Club
est. 1971
Everyone at the club is excited to see the Juniors back at CRFC. Teams across a range of different age groups are offered training to prepare for entry into this year's league competitions. Teams in Junior leagues aim to improve participation in the community, discipline and fitness. Our past association with the Victorian Churches Football League encourage appropriate behavior on and off the sporting field.
We have many Senior teams who play in Saturday or Sunday Leagues, this accommodates all members wishing to play on weekends. The senior teams in play competitive leagues and friendlies through-out the year. The teams train twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Individuals looking participate in these competitions should be 16 years or older. Whatever your ability, if you're looking to play outdoor football for the first time, coming back to the game; or pushing to higher levels, regardless new members are always welcomed at CRFC.
Our ladies had a fantastic year in 2022, welcomed more women in 2023, and looking to grow further in 2024. The competition demonstrates the expanding interest in the sport amongst females, looking to increase their fitness, social engagements and challenge themselves. We are also looking for female leaders with an interest to join the club coaching team. By joining the coaching team, you'll be learning new skills and confidence to train our club's future to even greater success.
The Croydon Ranges Mini Blues was an introductory program introduced by the Croydon Ranges Football Club in 2020. This program is tailored to teach the core skills of the game to young boys and girls in fun, inclusive, progressive steps and matches the fitness needs and capabilities for each age group. Croydon Ranges Football Club support those wishing to play from Seniors to well into retirement, we have many teams, Veterans (Over 35s) and Legends (Over 45s, Over 55s, and Over 60s). These competitions typically focus on social football, we try to schedule competition games in the evening and leave the weekends free. Training isn't compulsory but it's encouraged and it's enjoyable; importantly post training is an opportunity to involuntary hear how great your team mates once were. Seriously, sport is a well-known way to support men's health. The 'Vets' actively support each other and work with a range of organisations that encourage awareness of health issues.
You don't have to play in a team, why not join as a member only, this entitles you to enroll in club clinics and many of the club functions. We have a number of nomads who train only, simply to develop their skills and keep fit with a workout on grass, with a ball (no gyms, no push bikes and lycra shorts).
What to expect at CRFC
Real Grass Pitches!
Our grass pitches are the envy of every club in the outer east of Melbourne, underground drainage and sprinklers. Importantly, all our pitches are grass, yes, real grass pitches, flat as a snooker table, soft under foot, and no Cricket wicket to dodge. Training in winter in glorious and, matchday, there's no excuse for the ball taking a bubble just when you're about to tuck it into the top corner for the winner.
Premiership Floodlights
'luke at dose tars...luke at dose tars, would ye" exclaimed Northern Irishman and Club President, Gary Seaye, when the new floodlights were installed and commissioned in 2021.
CRFC's state of the art LCD Floodlighting aluminates all 4 grass pitches instantly at the press of a button, good enough to safely play games on during the winter months.
beauty of a Clubhouse
A quality clubhouse that caters to all members and their guests. With floor to ceiling windows looking over Silcock Reserve, the CRFC Function Room comfortably seats ~100+ people. The audio visual equipment, with huge projection screen, is regularly used to watch the football after training and club functions (such as Juniors' Movie nights, Quiz nights, Presentations). Industrial sized kitchen, well stocked canteen and fully licensed bar.
For the players there are; plenty of clean change rooms, private showers and toilets. For the Refs, 2 change rooms with shower and toilet.
Fun Culture
"we're not playing for sheep stations...have fun". That's the essence of our culture today, no matter your age, be you a kid, an adultescent, adult, or oldie...you come here to have fun, be healthy and get away from pressures in life. Our Members have always wished that foremost for each other and, today, CRFC are a much bigger community club that aim to enable a positive Football experience. Regardless of your experience/age/sex/political belief/faith/nationality, or the fact you may be a Chelsea supporter, you will be welcome at CRFC...just be sure to leave all that baggage behind at the door and simply have fun kicking a silly ball around a field .
a Competition to suit you
We have teams competing in various football leagues in Melbourne's South-East, catering to Sub-Juniors, Juniors , Senior Womens, Senior Mens, Senior Mens/Womens and Vets. For our Senior members we aim to have teams that play mid-week, Saturdays or Sundays to accommodate those that may regularly work, study or practice a faith and has prevented them playing in the past.
Special Events
Through-out the season the club regularly schedules special events such as; Junior Movie Nights, Quiz Nights, Gaming Nights, Dinner/Dance nights, Junior Melbourne City Clinics, Half-time games at A League matches, pre-season and end of season competitions and trips, golf days, pool nights,...the list is too long but it's doesn't have to be only training and matchday.
